SCENIC RIM &
GOLD COAST HINTERLAND
VINEYARDS
Just a half-hour trip inland from the spectacular Gold Coast beaches awaits a unique wine region, inviting you to venture in from the coast and indulge your senses.
The Scenic Rim / Gold Coast Hinterland region is known as Brisbane’s World Heritage-listed backyard, with ancient rainforests and dramatic mountain ranges making the perfect setting for a weekend away, filled with good food and great wine.
Hidden within the eroded interior of an ancient volcano, the Scenic Rim / Gold Coast Hinterland region is one of Queensland’s most fertile wine regions – and one of the fastest growing
With a delicious variety of emerging grapes including Verdelho, Chambourcin, and Viognier, as well as the more classic Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Merlot, wine tastings are served up next to locally made cheeses, honey, and other excellent produce.
The Scenic Rim and Gold Coast Hinterland are often used interchangeably to take in the townships from Mount Tamborine to Canungra, Mt Barney to Mudgeeraba.
The bucolic beauty of the region has drawn visitors since the 1920s, who flocked to Lamington National Park to immerse themselves in nature.
The quaint towns and villages dotted throughout the mountains today invite you to stay a while and breathe in the scenery, with nature trails, rainforest retreats, and waterfall circuits waiting to be discovered. That is, of course, after you’ve called in at the region’s many cellar doors plotted along Queensland’s Vine and Shine Trail!
